CyberTipline Workflow
NCMEC’s CyberTipline is the nation’s centralized reporting system for the online exploitation of children. This infographic explains the steps taken when a tip is submitted. NCMEC staff review each tip and work to find a potential location for the incident reported so that it may be made available to the appropriate law enforcement agency for possible investigation.
AMBER Alert Workflow
AMBER Alerts are activated in the most serious child-abduction cases. The goal of an AMBER Alert is to instantly galvanize the community to assist in the search for and safe recovery of a missing child. An update was needed to the flowchart that conveys what happens when law enforcement issues an AMBER Alert.
Missing Children Division Anatomy of a Case
Each year, NCMEC intakes over 30,000 missing children cases. This ‘Anatomy of a Case’ is a summary of the many NCMEC processes and where they can branch off depending on the situation when a child is reported missing.
